Anna had a parent vs. kids softball game on Sunday.  At the end of the game, the team was surprised with a cooler full of water balloons...they had a blast throwing the balloons at each other and the coaches!!

Luker

Luke is involved with a summer basketball league through Slinger High School.  This sophomore league invites incoming freshman to play and are subbed in as needed.  What a blessing that he gets to play...and he holds his own out there!!

ZOO

One of the highlights of the weekend was going to the Milwaukee County Zoo with Courtney, her Mom and her brother.  We packed up the entire Peterson gang and headed to the zoo.
Courtney's Mom has worked at the zoo for over 30 years and has worked with many of the animals in the various areas of the zoo.  She is in charge of all of the penguins right now.  It was funny how she could call each penguin by name and they would listen to her!!!

We were blessed to have a behind the scenes tour in the reptile and amphibian house...we went up above the exhibit and got a chance to feed some of the fish and turtles from the amazon!!  It was very cool!!!

Courtney's Mom then took us into the actual penguin exhibit where we could visit with the different penguins.  Yes, it was 40 degrees in there..brrrr.  Again, she knew each penguin by name and knew that "stella" the penguin would be very interested in our shoe laces....which, she WAS!!
Here's my view while I was in the exhibit  (I was standing where John was in the above picture)
We also saw these beautiful creatures showing off...

Father's Day was great...spent time with my Mom and Dad, had a delicious dinner with them. Sorry, no pictures!  Hoping the Petersons (John's parents) had a fun day too!!!  XOXO

Food, Bird and Anna Banana

The weather has been so nice around here that I made a cashew chicken salad last night...it was so good!  Perfect for a warm day!    We saw this little brown thrasher at our feeder again...

and today we get to ride over to Mequon and get this girl (#62) from an overnight basketball camp!  Anna has been there since Wednesday.  John and I rode over to watch them last night...there were hundreds of girls, but we found our little cutie!!

Anna's last day of elementary school (last Friday)

Anna has a friend that is moving to Georgia the day after school is out.  Because they will miss her so much, they decided to really celebrate and have a sleepover/party before the last day of school.  They celebrated with a fancy dinner....

They even had a fancy diploma cupcake....

But the very FUN thing that they had was that a stretch limo picked them up and brought them to school the next day!

How cool was that???!!!!!
