My Awesome Birds....

The strangest thing happened the other day.....I'm sitting by the window with my camera and 2 pretty rare birds came to the Oriole feeder and actually fought over the grape jelly in the cup---and I caught it ALL........

So, here's how it played out......Mr. Oriole came to the feeder to have some yummy grape jelly...
Along came Mr. Catbird, all hungry and such.....hoping to sneak in and have a snack....
OH, there's Mr. Oriole....Oh my....maybe he will get scared and leave if I puff myself up.....
Shoot- that didn't work.....NOW LOOK WHO'S ALL BIG AND SCARY......
and Mr. Oriole continued to slurp away.....

Notice the nail art on some of the nails....stripes of pink and green on 2 nails, and of course, the sparkles on all of the nails.........More All-Star pictures tomorrow.....

Chipotle Bowls

Andrew requested his favorite meal "chipotle bowls" the other night....it's basically marinated chicken, thrown in with some lettuce and lots of yummy toppings such as sour cream, cheese, tomatoes, pico de gallo, guacamole, tortilla chips.....after the meal, he always says under his breath, "Thank you Miss Wendy for showing us how to make this yummy meal." (She lives in Chicagoland.)

Father's Day

I think John had a good father's day.......he got his belly full at lunch with my parents, and he got his share of the outdoors while playing frisbee golf...and then had Jim Beam burgers on the grill for dinner. That's a pretty good day, I say.....

Benj

Ben's coach moved the players around to various positions on Sunday night. Another position that Ben played was 1st base. I captured this shot of him, while centering myself between the rungs of the chain link fence.....Go Ben!!!

It was a busy weekend at the Peterson Home.... Lots of walls in the basement got painted...I tell ya, when everyone gets involved in the painting, the painting gets done quickly!!! We painted the basement in only a few hours!!!
and when Luke chose not to go to one of the middle schooler's parties, the party wandered over to our house......hmmm.... teenager invasion!!
and we watched Ben's first game of the season on Sunday evening.......a loss, but a good night at the ballpark....
