I think Andrew has captured the eyes perfectly......but I don't exactly recognize the nose.....his is much cuter... =) A lot better than anything I could do, unless you like stick figures!!! HAPPY LONG WEEKEND!

We've gone to the birds.....

When we moved to this house, we realized that we had some very nice birds in the area.....I got so excited that I bought several bird books and songbird CD's. I really do appreciate the variety of birds.... this week, I caught a few visitors at the Oriole feeder. We put an orange on the top and grape jelly in the cup.....
We saw a GIANT red headed woodpecker....
a few purple finches....
and even the much awaited Baltimore Orioles....
I would like to say that we removed the window grate so we could see the bird feeder better, but actually, Bella, our Lab, likes to watch and chase away the squirrels that come to the feeder by "thumping " the window with her paws.....

I even enjoy the beauty of the chickadee, the cardinal and yes, even the Blue Jay.....

End of Ben's Tennis Season

As a freshman, Ben is having a blast playing doubles with his friend, Keith. They make up the JV #1 doubles team. This weekend the team played in Watertown, WI in a JV invitational with 7 other teams. John managed to drive out to watch Ben play and got some good "shots" of Ben. This invitational marked the end of the JV tennis season. Here are Ben and Keith in action!!

Andrew played in an Invitational this weekend in Waukesha, Wisconsin.....didn't remember the camera for that trip--- he starts Sub-sectionals on Tuesday of this week....I'll catch him playing later this week!!! He will be playing Varsity #2 singles..... Good Luck, Andrew!!!

Look Out....

Just a warning to all in our area.....Ben got his driver's permit yesterday!! He drove a little bit and the most exciting thing that happened was when he turned the corner, he accidentally hit the windshield wiper lever and water squirted and the blades went back and forth as he was turning......that was good for a giggle or two!!!

Rummage Sale

Our weekend was very productive... On Saturday, we went up to Gma's and Gpa's
and put lots of "stuff" in their rummage sale. Anna was a little entrepreneur and sold cookies and lemonade- she came out with $12!!!

She also had her first scrimmage in softball....had to wear the uniform and everything!!! She looked adorable and played really well too......for a first time player!! GO GIANTS!!

Museum

Last weekend, Anna had a chance to stay overnight with her Brownie Troop at the Milwaukee Public Museum. I had no idea that the Museum let people stay overnight!! Needless to say, they had a blast. They had a flashlight tour through the museum and visited the planetarium.....evidently they didn't get much sleep because the recording of the dinosaur "roaring" couldn't be turned off so they heard that all night.....now that would freak ME out!!!

Johnny Appleseed

This week, Anna's class had a big performance for their parents.....a play called Johnny Appleseed. Anna played the part of the "mother" in the frontier family and Madison was her daughter. Here they are executing their parts beautifully~

Mother's Day Weekend......

It was a GREAT weekend......Luke and I made some chicken pot pies on Friday night.....5 to be exact!!!

Mother's Day was FABULOUS!! Slept until 8:00 am, breakfast of pancakes and scrambled eggs, went to church, did some yard work at Gma's house, nice dinner prepared by my hubby....and a meal swap in the evening that landed me 10 meals in my freezer!! Love it!!!! Here we are just before church.....WOW, everyone was showered and physically present....what a moment!!

I had a chance to watch Andrew play tennis yesterday..... very tough match.... so many amazing plays......he's come a long way......

Phoenix

Well...here it is......the house that my husband stayed in with his buddies for 5 days on his golf trip......UNREAL. John said that he got to sleep in the master suite. As you can imagine, it was gorgeous.....fireplace, circular shower with multiple water jets, steam shower, 2 toilets and even a bidet!!! The master suite was on the top floor on the left side of the picture. Glad he's home now- don't want him to get used to this!!!!
