Works for me Wednesday...

On Wednesdays I usually post something that works for our family, but today I'm going to warn you about something that DIDN'T work for me.

It's not a good idea to clean up a carpet stain by using Oxy-Clean on your carpeting. Consider yourself warned... Jill

My faithful dog walkers

Here are Ben and Luke, the faithful doggie walkers. They get up a little early each morning so they can take the 2 dogs for a quick walk around the cul de sac. I appreciate it SO MUCH. Bella, the pup, needs LOTS of exercise and this takes the edge off of her energy for awhile. Annie, the old dog, just enjoys being outside and having a change of pace. Way to go, guys!! Jill

Homecoming Dance

Andrew had his Homecoming dance Saturday night and he said he had a good time but I think the fun came after the dance at the neighbor's sleepover.

Here is what a teenage male does to "primp" for the dance. (45 minutes tops)
Shower
Have Mom iron your clothes (yes, I'm a sucker)
Get dressed
Shoes on/ Brush teeth
Have Dad help you do this....

and then you're ready to go

I can't think of a better day to wear a long sleeved black, part polyester shirt, can you?? (It was only 85 degrees)

John and I drove Andrew to a designated location...(friend's girlfriend's) to take pictures. Andrew's date, Not a girlfriend, showed up late for pictures. Dad ends up putting on nearly every boutonniere for the guys...even though it looks totally "wrong" to have a guy reaching inside another guy's shirt to fasten the thing.
Faking putting on the flower

The real guy doing all of the work..

The group...

Andrew and his "date"...

After pictures, Andrew's date ditched him to go to a friend's house, leaving him dateless for dinner. So he hung out with the 5 other couples at dinner...how awkward. She met him at the dance and only danced with him once. Next time, I think he will choose to go alone, with a group of guys.
John and I were walking to our car after the pictures of the kids had been taken and he grabbed my hand and said "I'm SO glad to be married." That made me smile..."me too." I said.

Here's my date for the evening... isn't he grand???? Jill

Random Pictures

Here are a few random pictures of the kids from this week....

Andrew has a new student in his class that just came here from Mexico. The student cannot speak English, so Andrew's class decided to throw a party for him to make him feel more welcome. Andrew's assignment was to make cookie bars. Here he is making the bars...the pink mixer didn't even bother him!! REAL MEN USE PINK MIXERS!!

Ben had a flag football game this week. Here he is playing in the game....

Luke has a bad cold this week and his asthma has kicked in...he's missed quite a few days of school. I guess cold medicine can really knock ya out...

Anna has had fun playing with her birthday presents..."Look, Mom, our outfits match. Isn't that so cool?"

Have a great weekend!!!! Jill

The Birthday Bash

Grandma and Grandpa were here for Anna's birthday celebration! We started the evening by having Anna's choice for dinner. Dinner included spaghetti (with NO sauce) and fruit salad...those were her requirements. Pretty easy, hey?

The birthday cake was a chocolate cake with vanilla cheesecake filling....Yum! I was planning on making it myself until I saw one at Costco.... How easy was that? Grandpa bought the cake and told Anna that he was up early that morning making it for her. Didn't Grandpa do a beautiful job??

Here was the theme for presents this year...Bitty Baby and accessories...she was thrilled...oh yes, AND the High School Musical 2 CD that she just LOVES to sing and dance to!! The Ariel Halloween costume was a huge hit too. Oh, to be 6 again!!

How great is this?? Grandma and Grandpa unloading my dishwasher---too bad they can't stay for a few more days!! Jill
