The Visitor....

We had a hungry visitor just outside of our window in the front of the house....I'm guessing he was looking for a little birdie treat-- he was hiding in the bushes by the bird feeder.  Sorry for the somewhat blurry pics and the view of the trash cans!!!

Here's the birthday girl with her gifts!!  I've never seen someone get so excited over shampoo and bath products!!!  That's my girl!!!

The Adventure....continued

So, we walked up to the old, creepy looking house.......and found one of these.....and it actually worked!!!
Bella had a nice drink of COLD water....
We saw a huge building.....the Mill....

Then we spotted this......oh, I hoped that wasn't what I thought it was.....an Outhouse!
Anna's friend checked it out .....
and found this.....it wasn't a "working" outhouse anymore.
we traveled along the path and found this beautiful creek that ran through the property.
 and a well kept barn....
and a little house to process maple syrup...

This historic homestead was built in the late 1860's and is used for school groups, etc to educate them about how people lived in that time period.  Evidently, the outhouse was used until the 1970's by the homeowner....WOW!!  The house was later updated to have electricity but never had plumbing.....we are so fortunate to have this interesting site within a mile or two from our house!!   We had a great time wandering through the historical park!!
