Student/Faculty Game....

I thought I would include another day devoted to the student/faculty game at school. Coach Peterson had a great time playing against his son...

Look, he ran up and down the court....not bad for an old guy...

He played some good defense....

He even got himself a "Technical" foul.....on purpose, of course.

and then laughed about it....

What an enjoyable game!!!

Weekend Highlights

I can't begin to tell you how busy our weekend was..... I think we wore Grandma and Grandpa out...again. Friday afternoon was the student/faculty game at our school. Because John and Andrew were coaches for the 8th grade basketball team, they were playing AGAINST Ben and the rest of the 8th graders. The teachers got creative and had tee shirts made up with all of the players pictures on it....guess who wore Ben's picture....???

Saturday was a Chemistry Olympiad for Andrew, Ben and John were at UW-Milwaukee to attend "National History Day", Luke had baseball skills testing and a basketball game and Grandma and Grandpa were here because they were having their "New" home inspected!! Can you believe they are moving here??? Pinch me....is it really true??? Anyway, here's a picture of their new house......

Here's a picture from Luke's last game of the year.....Sink it, Luker!! and he did!

On Sunday we went to church and then headed downtown to see "Smucker's Star's On Ice". It was fun to see all of the former olympians and world champions skate their hearts out!! Here's Todd Eldridge...

and here's Anna Grace and I, enjoying the show.....

Basket-ballers...

Luke had his last basketball practice last night. It was a special "Father/Son" practice which included various contests and a scrimmage. These 2 characters came home all sweaty and full of smiles....they won a few of the contests and won some free frozen custard certificates! It's wonderful to see the fun these guys can have together. Happy Weekend!!

Tasty Thursday....Taco Shell Bake

My summers between college I worked at a daycare in Galesburg, Illinois. Those kids had the best home-cooked lunches ever! Here's one of the recipes that they served.....

Taco Shell Bake

1 package (16oz.) medium shell pasta

2 pounds ground beef

1 onion, chopped

½ cup green pepper, chopped

2 cans of tomato soup

1 cup water

1 pkg. taco seasoning mix

2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup crushed taco chips

Prepare pasta according to package directions. Drain. Brown ground beef, add onions and green pepper. Drain grease. Add soup, water and seasoning mix. Simmer ten minutes. Combine shells and meat mixture. Pour into a “sprayed” 9x13. Top with cheese and taco chips. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

and a special birthday wish to my good friend, Wendy......Happy Birthday- hope you have a GREAT day!!

An interesting bus ride....

Anna came home from school the other day and told me that 4 kids puked on the bus, on the way to school that day. I couldn't believe it....how gross. Then she explained how she had to carefully step over the mess to get off of the bus to go into school. She said the students were complaining because of the awful smell on the bus. (duh!!) She then smiled at me and said......

"I was very thankful that I had a stuffy nose and couldn't smell a thing!!!!"

Kids keep you laughing, don't they!!!
