Barbecue anyone??

Anna brought this book home yesterday from school....I nearly fell on the floor laughing when I saw the words above the title...."Grills Rock". I'm sure she probably meant "Girls Rock", but then again, maybe she likes a good barbecue!!!

Last Day of School today for most of our kiddoes! Have a fabulous weekend!! Jill

Exciting changes....

If you really want to see your child get excited, just tell them that you are going to change their room around....that's exactly what we did this past weekend for all of the kiddoes. Here are the results...

Oh my gosh, Anna was so excited to see the changes that were made in her room! She was all about reorganizing her stuff...and I was all about vacuuming under and behind all of the furniture! I thought it turned out really well!

Next, we went to the boys (Ben and Luke's) room. Now that the winter is over, we made the beds into bunk beds...it really opened up the room. My thoughts are that you never want a kid to be in the top bunk during stomach flu season--that could be a HUGE mess.
So, anyway, here's how it turned out... Sorry, I forgot to take an "after" of Andrew's room....ooops. Jill

Weekend!!

Good Morning one and all from sunny Wisconsin....it was a beautiful weekend here...sunny and temps in the low 70's....my favorite!!! It was so nice that Andrew decided to scrub the bugs and dirt off of his car...with a little (lot) of help from some brothers and friends.
On Saturday, we had a bunch of extra buddies at our house and it was evidently too loud for our doggie, Bella. She just couldn't find a place to take a snooze that was quiet and comfy.
As we were cleaning out Andrew's closet in his room, she came creeping into his room and jumped up on his bed and eventually fell asleep....
Oh yes, and there was a lot of this going on too...
On Sunday, Andrew had the Miller Lite Ride for the Arts... he and the neighbor decided to choose the 25 mile ride, but ended up choosing the 15 mile ride so they could both make it to baseball practice at noon. Here's a picture of the guy who VOLUNTARILY set him alarm for 5:15 am so he could participate in the ride.... yes, I was up early taking this picture...I would gladly sacrifice my sleep so you could see what my kid and neighborhood look like at 5:45 am- that's how dedicated I am to you, my loyal blog readers (smile)
Yes, there are two other young men that live here too...their Sunday was so unbelievably busy that I was busy running here, there and everywhere, that I forgot to bring my camera.... We had church, 3 baseball practices, a play date and 1 baseball game to attend....Whew.... I will certainly enjoy a slower day today...and quiet.... so will Bella dog... Jill

Tidbits

Some people are lucky enough to miraculously have the face of Jesus or the Virgin Mary appear on a piece of toast or appear on a piece of fruit....and then sell it on ebay for lots of $$$$. Well, this is all we have.....a heart, appearing in a watermelon..... how much would you pay for it???? I'd better keep my day job, right???

and look who's back at our bird feeder after being gone for almost a year...
Hope your weekend is sunny and warm....enjoy it!! Jill

Memorial Day Fun

We were motivated to get up early on Memorial Day and drive to the "big city" to see this at our Public Museum.... BodyWorlds!
Andrew and Ben really liked it and found it interesting....Luke, I think, was pretty grossed out by the whole thing and Anna liked it but encountered "tired legs", so Daddy held her through the exhibit. It took us about an hour to get through the exhibit, and then we went to see some of the rest of the museum.....dinosaur bones... but the BEST part in my opinion was the butterfly room. We walked into a warm, tropical room and flying all around were hundreds of butterflies of all different types. It was really cool when one would land on your head....I had a few that fluttered close to me. I think they were checking out the flowers on my purse.
Here's Anna AFTER she was done freaking out in the butterfly room.....
and the rest of the gang....
and John even offered to sit in the "way back" on the ride home....isn't he nice????
Hope you enjoyed our "outing"!! Jill
