The Last Practice

Luke's team had their last basketball practice this week. It was a fun practice to turn in uniforms and also included a parent vs. player game. There was a lot of testosterone flowing and sweat dripping during the game...
There were some antics that went on......like, a little leap frog on the court.....

As you can clearly see, Luke has quite an audience eating his morning cereal. They have no problem jumping up and "helping" Luke with his cereal......

The Last Game.....

Anna had her last basketball game for the "Lady Comets" on Saturday. Here she is with her participation trophy.....

Weekend...

Well, here's what Andrew's foot looked like on Friday, and he decided to go on a Spring Break Mission Trip to Washington D.C. This Momma was not happy!! We made him come home from college and make a trip to our own doctor, and he cleared him to go on the trip, with a promise that he would keep ice on it and keep it elevated as much as possible!! The group took 3 large school vans and a mini van to make the 13 hour trip. When they left, our area had a winter storm warning under effect...it was so hard to let him get in that van!! The next day (Saturday) I received a text that the group had made it safely to their destination....whew!!

Did you know that winter is back in Wisconsin?? Yes, it is....and it will be until later this week, and then we will have temps. in the 50's...
John decided to clean our carpets this weekend, and with that, he steam cleaned our couch too.... It's amazing what you find stuck in the various corners of the couch!!
I should be embarrassed showing you all of the goodies that I found, but really I'm just excited that I don't have to go out and buy more black pony tail holders at Target!!! and what's with the snake???????

Ye Old Schoolhouse

Anna's class went to a one room school house for a field trip. It is called "Ye Old School House." This school has been restored to it's original existence and is now a museum. The students spent the day there and had to dress in time period clothing....how fun!! Here is Miss Anna in her dress and bonnet.
she had a chance to ring the school bell....
they sat in their desks and even got to use pens that had to be dipped in ink...
and some students were naughty (hee hee) and had to have their braids taped to the board....
Their guide took them outside and said it was time for recess. While many thought they would get to run around and play, the guide took them to the outhouse and told them they had to use it, but conveniently there was a sign that said " do not use" when they opened the door!! They were pretty scared about using the outhouse!!! Needless to say, they had a GREAT day on their field trip! I apologize that these pictures cannot be enlarged, I copied them from our school website and they copied at this size!!

Ouch!

Surprise.....Andrew has a trip to Urgent Care!! He blocked a shot in Intramural Basketball and came down on the side of his foot, causing him lots of pain. After icing it and elevating it all night, he still could not put any weight on it. The University Health Nurse recommended that we go to urgent care; so after 3 hours, he hobbled out with an air cast and crutches. No fracture, just a very bad sprain. Luckily, he is done with classes tomorrow and then he'll be home on Spring Break for a week!!!
