Cool Weather Weekend!

 It was an extremely cool weekend here in Wisconsin...highs in the high 60's.  Apparently Anna didn't get the message that it was going to be cool.  She still wore her summer jammies to bed, so when she got  up Saturday morning, she needed a blanket to cover up while she was watching tv! I guess her buddy, Minnie kept her warm!

The highlight of the weekend was going to a picnic at a friend's house on Bark Lake.  While I forgot to bring my camera to the party, I did remember to make the brownies and Funfetti bars!!  It was sure messy making the brownies, with all of the cocoa powder flying around!

 The neighbor boy came home from college so the boys spent a lot of time outside disc golfing...beautiful weather for that!!

First of all....I want to wish Grandma Ellie Peterson a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Presents and hugs will be delivered personally next weekend!

Also, I was looking through the nursing home website where Bella and I volunteer, and I found this photo from last Fall...it's Bella and I with the activities coordinator.  Good Times!

Last night we went to our local county fair...we really enjoyed seeing all of the animals...

 and some of us enjoyed the fair food too!!

 Andrew volunteered to make dinner last night...he made the cheeseburgers!  He played the part of John, using the grill tools and drinking a Scotch and soda.  Ha!  It was a wonderful meal that we all enjoyed!!

Girlie Weekend!

 While John and Luke went up north and Andrew and Ben went to Madison for the weekend, Anna and I enjoyed a "girlie" weekend!  Of course we still had Dairy Queen night on Friday...

On Saturday, we had a girlie lunch at Panera and then went to a movie, Despicable Me 2.

On Sunday, we made it to church and then did the grocery shopping for the week.  Yes, this is what weekly grocery shopping for a family of 6 looks like!

Anna's weekend!

 As I said in yesterday's post, Anna went up north with a friend for the weekend.  She had so much fun...she had quite the adventure!  Here's where they slept, in the "bunk house."

Empty Nester Weekend

 John and I had an interesting weekend.  Our boys were up at our cottage and Anna was spending the weekend at her friend's lakehouse.  So, I guess we had an "empty nester" weekend! 

Saturday night we had dinner with long time friends of ours whose 2 kids are both in college.  It was a beautiful night, sitting on the patio at one of our favorite restaurants!

 

On Sunday, friends flew up from Chicago to the West Bend airport.  We picked them up, took them to brunch and then spent a few hours with them before they flew back home.  It was only a 30 minute flight for them!!   All of our kiddoes are "back in the nest" now, and it sounds like everyone had a fabulous weekend!

We enjoyed a dinner out at La Chimenea on Wednesday night...it was a great night to sit out on the patio!
