Girlie Lunch

Anna and I had a nice girlie lunch on Saturday....Panera-  her favorite!!!  She loves the mac and cheese...me too!! (sorry for the blurry pic)

Basketball, Browning Beef and Birds

 This weekend John and Luke drove to our cottage to watch unlimited basketball on tv and visit some good friends.  I stayed back at home to "taxi" Anna around to her various "social functions." =)  Ben had to work on Saturday, so he was home too.  Speaking of Ben, he worked his last day at the Piggly Wiggly on Saturday.  He was terribly distraught about it... Oh yes, and tennis season starts today!!!

While I had some time, I though I would try browning 5 pounds of hamburger in the crock pot.  I've heard of other people doing this and I wanted to give it a try.....

 It turned out pretty well...I did have to stir it and break the meat up every hour or so.  I bagged it up and it's now living in my freezer to be used at a later date....

I had time to sit and watch my birds at the feeder.  We had so many beautiful ones!  Here's one of the nuthatches that I saw....He is beautiful!!

Snooze....

 On Sundays we try to slow our life down and enjoy each other, often forgetting about chores and laundry.  Last Sunday was especially slow....John and the pups took a little snooze in the sun!!

Also, I'm loving the battery operated candles that flicker on my dining room table!!  Happy Friday!!

Bucks Game

 John took the boys to a Milwaukee Bucks game on Tuesday night.  They all had a blast, and the Bucks won!!!

He likes Math

 Luke was recognized this week at our school board meeting for winning second place at a Middle School Math Meet.  Many middle schools that will be feeding into Hartford High School attended.  We're sure proud of him!!!  Other students were there to be acknowledged for our schools spelling bee, geography bee, National History Day, etc. We certainly have some great students at our school!!

Cheer leaders!!

 Anna and the whole 5th thru 8th grade cheer leading squad entertained the crowd with their halftime performance!  It was a great routine with stunts and dancing!! Here are the cheer leaders and the 2 high school girls who taught them the dance routine....

One of the high schoolers is going to beauty school so she did some fancy hair styles on the girls....here was Anna's hair.....  Pretty Cool!!!

Student/Faculty Game

 Our school's student/faculty game was held last Friday afternoon.  It's such an exciting day for everyone!!  Our 8th grade boys and girls basketball players took on the coaches and staff at our school.  This year was really "Special."  John played against Luke!!  Here are the students....

Weekend

 Miss Bella celebrated her birthday on Friday, so we bought her a "Frosty Paw"...it's a frozen peanut butter dog treat.  The theory is that they lick it until it's done melting- well, she gulped it right down!!  She's a little piggie!!

 

Andrew and Courtney were here for Saturday night and part of Sunday!  It's always fun to have them around!  As you can see, our neighbor, Louis, was home from college and came over to play a wild card game with us.  The gang enjoyed my HUGE jar of jelly belly jellybeans!!

 Luke entertained us this weekend by playing a few tunes on his guitar...We've been watching a DVD of "The Eagles"--that inspired the renewed interest in the guitar.  It was a great weekend!!
