Visitors

When I was growing up, these 2 lived next door to my family. They had 4 girls...that I played with for years!! They came to Wisconsin to visit my parents and I had the privilege of going out to dinner with them and reuniting!! It was so good to see them.....they haven't changed a bit!!

Robot Day

It's homecoming week at the high school and today the Junior class was asked to dress like a robot, so Ben found a box and some spray paint and got creative.....I think it looks pretty good, don't you???

Weekend

The most exciting part of the weekend......John using a jackhammer to break up the old basketball hoop/pole......
The most fun part of the weekend......Watching the Packers win against the Bears! and watching with the Wolf family!!! Sorry, didn't snap any pictures.....

My Girl

I took some pictures of Anna playing on the playground equipment at Luke's game. She was wearing her favorite color....turquoise.

and of course, her earrings were all "matchy-matchy." That's my girl........

Fall Ball

Luke's Fall Baseball is nearing an end.....we played a double header last Sunday, and it was quite chilly......

2 girls and a dollhouse

I had the privilege of watching a friend's girls while her husband was recovering from surgery. These 2 blondies spent the morning with me and I felt like I was transported back into time to when my kids were babies/preschoolers. Anna's old dollhouse got a workout as the girls were so excited to set up all of the furniture and people .....
The doll and doll stroller made numerous laps around our kitchen again....
Bella got a chance to practice her therapy dog skills as she was very "loved" by one of the girls....
and Minnie...well.....tolerated all of the nonsense.......
My goal was to get the girls good and worn out and then take them home without them catching a car nap......and I was successful!! Hooray....what a fun day!!!

Weekend highlight

The highlight of the weekend was getting to see Mr. College-boy, Andrew Peterson. He drove home just in time for dinner on Saturday night. I wasn't the only one that was glad to see him.....
We had a wonderful dinner....chicken on the grill, salad, potatoes and onions, roasted asparagus and Gramma made homemade bread!! YUMMY!
and we all laughed, ate and enjoyed being together again!!

Bella......the Therapy Dog!!!!

Last night Bella and I took a test....a very hard test....one that we've been training for the last six months....and we PASSED!! Bella and I are now "Pet Partners" and she is considered a "therapy dog!" I'm so proud of her!!!! Can't wait to get the paperwork filled out and get into the schools, nursing homes and hospitals!

Peterson Approved Recipe (Crock Pot)

Bacon Ranch Chicken....for the Crock Pot

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

2 tbsp real bacon bits

1tsp minced garlic

1pkg ranch dressing mix

1 can cream of chicken soup

1 cup sour cream

Combine bacon, garlic, ranch dressing mix, soup, and sour cream; mix well. Pour over chicken in the crock pot. Cook on high 3-4 hours. I then shred the chicken and put back in the pot. Serve over rice!!

Weekend

Friday at noon, I met Andrew for lunch....he was going camping with his Intervarsity group and I brought down his sleeping bag, flashlight, etc. It was so good to chat with him for awhile...
We had a couple of extra guys here for part of the weekend, which meant I got to fix them a special breakfast of french toast, scrambled eggs and bacon!! Our kids have great friends!!
Sunday, we went to church and then spent the afternoon watching Luke's double header baseball game.....lost one and tied the second.......Here's Luke pitching- throwing it to first base to try to get the runner!
and here he is batting.....wish I had a way to get rid of that silly fence.....

Labor Day Weekend, Continued.....

While we were up north, we went to the dog park that is just a few minutes from our cottage. We couldn't believe all of the dogs there! Usually there are one or two dogs, but there were at least 10 dogs there.....at one point it looked like a Labrador party!!!!
The kids went out into the woods around the cottage and found a TON of golf balls...I think they found 33 in all!!! WOW!! John always says he will pay 50 cents for each golf ball they find....well, he almost went broke this weekend with all of the golf balls!!!

Labor Day Weekend...

It was a beautiful weekend at our cottage......we did have a little rain though. Here's the view from the deck....the golf course was pretty busy!!
Anna brought a friend and they both had a blast in the pool.....it was a little too chilly for me to swim.....
