Monday, Monday.....

Happy Monday to ya!! Our weekend was jam packed!!! I won a $20 gift certificate and Luke won a free 3 ft. sub sandwich and another small sub from Subway at an event up at our high school...love it!!

We watched this young man (Ben) play a little tennis in a singles tournament on Saturday and Sunday..
and watched these two men (Andrew and his friend, Brendan) play in the doubles tournament too...
Unfortunately, only one person came home with something.....
Winner of the Consolation Bracket!! NICE!!!

But don't you worry a bit that the little girlie in this family was left out or ignored.....because she got to stir up a batch of white chocolate chip cookie bars with her mama......I even let her lick the beater......

The day after the feast....

Our Thanksgiving was divine....just one thing missing though.....no not another starch- we missed Gma and Gpa Peterson! They decided not to make the trek to Wisconsin, but they will come for Christmas....yea!! Anyway, rest assured that we had plenty of food and fun yesterday!!

Here's the dinner spread.....all of the yummy food.....
and the HUGE crockpot of mashed potatoes.....
all of that food makes you lazy and tired, so you just HAVE to watch some football....
and it makes you want to snuggle with doggies too....
Later in the evening we played a few games...evidently some people really enjoyed it!
Food, Family and Fun.....could it get any better??

First game for the 5th graders

Well, Coach Peterson had his first game last night with the newly formed 5th grade team. It was an interesting game....we didn't know how we would compare or play considering some of these kids haven't ever played in a "real" basketball game.... I thought we did amazingly well! Here's the team before the game, in the huddle...
and here's the tip off...... Richfield got the ball.... jump, Luker, jump!!!
and a casual shot of some players coming down the court....
let me tell ya, the Coaching staff was on the edge of their seats.....this was BEFORE Andrew broke the clipboard...
and here's Luke after making a sweet 2 point shot!!
The game went into overtime and Richfield came out a little short....but it was a really FUN game to watch!!!!

November Weekend.....

It was a wonderfully fun weekend......lots of action, lots of fun!! Friday night we went to a friend's house and had dinner and a bonfire.....it was a beautiful night! Too bad the pictures didn't turn out!!

Saturday brought a wedding reception for Mr. and Mrs. P, so they got all gussied up and went out on the town!!
Sunday, these girls and a bunch of others received their new bibles from church. As second graders, our church provides new bibles for each boy or girl that attend Sunday school. They even got to walk on stage in "big church" to receive them!! (Anna, Madison & Sarah)
Ben finally got to celebrate his birthday with the family by going out for dinner. As you can see, he enjoyed his burger....
More interesting photos from Ben's birthday adventure later this week!!!

National Honor Society Ceremony

As a current member of the National Honor Society, Andrew had a chance to welcome the new members to the group. He would have rather been in his "cozy clothes" at home, but he got all "gussied up", put on the gown and sat for the 2 hour ceremony. I think it's a huge accomplishment to be a part of that group so....Rock on Andrew!!

Birthday boy

After a nice evening spent dining at the Fox and Hound restaurant with the family & grandparents, we came home and enjoyed a colorful fruit pizza for dessert!! Anna was thrilled that she could help decorate the pizza with all of her favorite fruits...strawberries, blueberries and kiwi!! John also enjoyed an interesting message on voice mail from the Chicagoland Area.....singing him Happy Birthday.... a very fun night!!

Young Love....1989

Oh, those were the days....we both had LOTS of hair!!! This was taken in Shorewood, Wisconsin- I was visiting my then "boyfriend" who lived miles and miles away. He had a real job in Milwaukee and I was student teaching in Galesburg, Illinois at the time. I can't even remember who took the picture..probably John's roommate, Rich......good times, good times....

Farmville.....

Does it involve electronics? Does it involve the computer? Then the Peterson boys like it!! Our latest craze is "Farmville". It's an application on Facebook.....and yes, they play Happy Aquarium too!! I always feel like they spend too much time on the computer and with electronics but ......at least I know where they are and what they're doing!!!

Blast from the Past...

Here's a picture I found while rummaging through some boxes in the basement. It's a picture of Homecoming Court 1986. Don't ya just love the hair and Kim's "popped" collar?! I remember this being taken in the library at our high school. It was a fun week!! I LOVED high school!!! My sweater was really HOT...it was WOOL, and then add a nice turtleneck underneath.....UGH!!!

Food, Pictures and Basketball.....

The Petersons had a very busy, yet enjoyable weekend. On Saturday, I had the big meal swap- I came home with 14 meals for my freezer.....chicken divan, sloppy joes, chicken parmesan, etc!
We had our Peterson Family Christmas Portrait taken also....it always proves to be a wild and crazy hour!! Mr. Peterson sat down and organized his basketball papers and planned out his first official practice with his team...... don't know why all of the dog toys are under his feet???
The fifth grade team did a little practicing....
Luke is in the red shirt....

and some girl thought she ought to get to practice shooting the ball a little.....

and the Coach thought that was JUST FINE!!
